  • Install, configure, test and troubleshoot servers prior to running them in production mode.
  • Assist in migrating application to UNIX or Windows platforms and testing system and application software.
  • Provide on-going system administration and technical support once an installation is running efficiently in production mode.
  • Provide system administration functions, such as user account management, setting permission levels, maintaining system security, managing network resources and resolving routine problems.
  • Develop customized plans to meet specific client needs, including performance management, account management and security.
  • Develop backup procedures and disaster recovery plans for emergencies.
  • Identify and implement appropriate tools to monitor network performance. Identify and resolve performance problems.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity problems with cards, cables and related components.
  • Install and configure token-ring and Ethernet networks and resolve hardware conflicts.
